About Alex Johnson

Alex Johnson brings over two decades of professional and competitive climbing experience. Since 2011, she has been deeply committed to coaching—offering high-level instruction through youth and adult clinics, national training camps, private sessions, and as a full-time head coach.

With a rich background in competing, from youth locals to multiple World Cup gold medals, Alex delivers advanced competition strategies, detailed movement analysis, mindset training, and expert instruction across a broad spectrum of climbing techniques. Her coaching blends physical and mental preparation into a holistic approach tailored to each athlete.

Outdoors, Alex has sent boulders up to V14 and sport routes up to 5.14. Her experience in projecting, accessing flow states, and refining subtle movement makes her uniquely equipped to guide climbers through the complexities of performance on real rock.

Alex has coached climbers of all ages and abilities—from Youth National Champions, Olympians, and World Cup competitors to passionate weekend warriors pushing their outdoor limits. Whether you're preparing for Nationals, breaking through a plateau, or projecting your hardest route yet, Alex brings a rare combination of experience, insight, and personal connection to help you reach your full potential.
